Added value – A Strong Start to the Graduates’ Careers

Whoever decides to embark on the ‘Transnational German Studies’ programme chooses a course with a high degree of individual supervision. The group of participants is consistently small: as a community of international students, they learn together for four semesters, thus allowing them to bond closely – this is not comparable to groups of constantly changing fellow students. The exchange between them is closer – but the individual support and support for each participant is also crucial for the Joint Master.

Within the framework of the course’s mentoring programme, all students have direct relationships with a contact person who has a background in the humanities and who is available for discussions during all of the semesters. In addition, contact is also established through the respective buddy program at the European study locations, so that not only academic content and professional topics are addressed, but also other questions of student life.

Overall, the four semesters of the master programme at the four partner universities are a unique mobility experience. German Studies in a European context are combined with an intensive travel experience in Europe and provide stays of several months at each of the four countries visited – this is a unique and ideal way to get to know Europe. Moreover, the four universities and the leading professors who run this transnational master are part of an even larger European and worldwide network. To expand the horizons of university teaching and study experience, specialists from various partner universities in Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden participate and thereby complement the programme.
